The goal of the LIFEBELT device is to make the driver and occupants use their seat-belts whenever the automobile is in motion. With LIFEBELT installed the engine will not start unless the drivers seatbelt is buckled. If the driver, the passengers, or the children unbuckle while the engine is running the radio is shut off and an alarm plays until the belt is rebuckled. (Important Note: The car will not stop running if the seatbelt is unbuckled while in motion. The driver's seatbelt must be buckled to start the engine. If it is unbuckled once the car is running the radio will shut off and a 50 db noise will sound until the buckle is refastened.) The LIFEBELT seatbelt management system also functions as a theft deterrent!
