Quickie GTX - Fixed Front End Folding Wheelchair
E-mail this product to a friend
Available in Swing-Away or Fixed Front Frame. Swing-Away features Swing-In/Swing-Out footrests while Fixed Front has same Open-frame design of Quickie GT. For users looking for a stylish lo-weight, hi-performance, and convenience of a folding chair, Quickie GTX is the ticket.
Exciting New Cross-Tube Design Maximum strength with minimum frame: this is the stated goal of the Quickie GTX design. To achieve this, our engineers eliminated the rear side-frames and mounted the x-tube folding assembly directly to the axle plates. Result: a truly revolutionary wheelchair frame both in terms of weight and performance.
Rigid-Frame Performance in a Folding Chair Mounting the x-tube assembly to a thick double-locking axle-plate structure and minimizing the number of connecting parts gives the Quickie GTX a rigid feel and optimal performance. Ideal for users who want a folding chair that performs like a rigid chair.
Ultra Low-Weight Aluminum Frame To achieve the lowest possible weight for an aluminum frame, our engineers use FAE analysis technology to determine the structural stress-points requiring maximum support. The result: minimum frame material that maintains maximum strength and rigidity. This is why we invite you to compare its weight with any other folding chair in its class.
Ultra-Lightweight Wheel Adding an ounce of weight to the wheel is like adding a pound of weight to the frame. For this reason, the GTX features a multitude of wheel choices including the Ultra-Lightweight wheel, one of the lightest wheels in the high-performance wheelchair market at 3.1 lbs. per wheel including a quick-release axle versus 4 lbs. for a typical spoke wheel.
Features
- Both versions of the Quickie GTX feature one of the widest selections of seat widths and depths in the industry. The seat-width ranges from 12" - 20" in 1" increments. The seat-depth ranges from 12" - 22" in 1" increments. The GTX also has a 308 lbs. user weight limit.
- The GTX features 28° of backrest angle adjustment. This wide range provides the necessary adjustment for flat seats or seats that are angled up to 15°, which is often preferred by users wishing to maximize performance and torso stability.
- Horizontal armrest angle-adjustment is a unique feature on the Quickie GTX Padded Swing-away Armrests. It ensures that the armrests always stay parallel to the ground, regardless of whether the armrest receiver-clamp is at an angle. This is critical for users who utilize wheelchair tray tables that mount to the armrest for meals or as a workspace.
- Three different types of tension-adjustable backrest upholstery are available on the Quickie GTX: standard, vented, and Jay Precision adjustment backrest upholstery. If wicking heat and moisture is important, vented is an ideal choice. For complications, such as bony prominences or the need for a headrest and laterals, the Jay Precision Backrest provides the industry's optimal solution.
- Freedom to go anywhere! Because the GTX uses a shallow x-tube assembly and no rear side-frame, it folds into an amazingly compact shape. Additionally, the GTX has the only fold-down backrest on the market. All of this translates into one of the smallest folded packages in the world.
- The Quickie Xtender™ power-assist is another great chair option. The Xtender provides the perfect transition for users who prefer manual chairs but need some assistance when moving uphill or traveling long distances.
